Almost 400 residents of Oxdrift, Minnitaki and Eagle Lake First Nation lost power overnight for about five hours.
A Hydro One spokesperson says a pole caught fire, just after 1-am, and crews had to disconnect power in order to make repairs.
The spokesperson says road salt buildup on the pole likely caused the blaze.
Because of the buildup, the electrical current may have jumped the insulators and onto the wood pole starting a fire.
Two poles were damaged in the incident.
