Dryden Police say a Wabigoon man has been charged in connection with a case on New Years Day in Dryden that was first reported as a robbery.
Police say 60-year-old William Parenteau first reported that three men had robbed him of 500 dollars.
Three men were later found and arrested in Thunder Bay.
Police say Parenteau later told them he was not robbed but had given one of the men 500 dollars to buy merchandise.
The man said he would return with the merchandise but instead left with the two other men.
The three men, all from B.C., were first charged with robbery but charges were later changed to fraud.
Police say Parenteau has been charged with public mischief and will appear in court on February 11th.
