For the third time in SIJHL history, the league championship will be decided between the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and a Fort Frances based team.
The Ice Dogs won the inaugural championship in 2002, while the Lakers defeated Dryden GM in 6 games last year.
This is the eighth appearance for Dryden in the Bill Salonen Cup.
The Dogs were on the short end of the regular season series only winning two games.
Four of their losses came in overtime or a shootout.
The Fort Frances Lakers are well rested following a four game sweep in their Semi-Final.
Dryden GM is coming off a gruelling and physical match-up with Thunder Bay.
The Best-of-7 Series starts Thursday in Fort Frances at 7:30.
