For the second straight game the Dryden GM Ice Dogs failed to play a full sixty minutes but on Saturday night it cost them.
The Thunder Bay North Stars tied the game with three minutes left in regulation time and Brendan Gillis scored in overtime in a 4-3 win.
Dryden GM thought they had won the game late in the third but the goal was called back due to “inadvertent interference on the goaltender”.
Eric Stout, Malcolm Huemmert and Bryce McDonald scored for the Ice Dogs.
Justin Anderson kept Dryden GM in the game, making 33-saves.
Depite the poor play on the weekend, the Ice Dogs did obtain 3 out of a possible 4 points.
They are now two points behind the first place Thief River Falls Norskies.
That’s because the Norskies cruised to a 7-1 win over English River in a penalty filled game.
Once again the Miners offence fell flat with Jared Janke scoring the lone goal.
English River was also outshot 44-27.
The Miners remain tied with Minnesota for last in the SIJHL.
The Iron Rangers lost 6-3 to Fort Frances.
Kenora’s Skylar Lentz scored for the Lakers.
