Ice Dogs And Miners Both Post Victories

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs scored twice on the powerplay and scored their league leading 8th short handed goal in a 5-2 win over Fort Frances Friday night.

Eric Stout led the Dryden GM attack with 2-goals and 1-assist, while Dakotah Woods scored his first SIJHL goal and added an assist.

Trevor Kavanaugh and Matthew Pitchenese also found the back of the net, and Burke Johnstone picked up his first league point with an assist.

The Ice Dogs outshot the Lakers 41-38, with Jacob Gnidziejko picking up the win.

The English River Miners used home ice to their advantage in a 4-1 win over Minnesota.

Jacob Siebenga led the way with 2-goals and an assist, while Brody Jennings and Spencer Milne added singles.

The Miners outshot the Iron Rangers 42-25, with Michael Lenko picking up the victory.

The rematch is Saturday night at 7:30 at the Cochenour Arena.

The Thief River Falls Norskies continue to roll as the league leaders defeated Thunder Bay on the road 5-2.
