The Wynne government has voted against a NDP bill to end gasoline price gouging.
The ‘Fairness in Petroleum Products Pricing Act’ was introduced by MPP Gilles Bisson to provide predictable and consistent retail pricing of petroleum products.
Bisson says it’s disappointing that the Liberals decided to let families down once again.
He says there’s no reason why we should have a 40 cents a litre difference for gas in this province.
Bisson stresses the Liberals have shown they are on the side of oil companies, arguing that the NDP is on the side of the consumer.
He says the province can regulate alcohol, milk and natural gas, but for some reason can’t protect consumers at the pump.
Bisson says Ontario families living from Windsor to Kenora should expect a reasonable and consistent price for gas at the pumps. (File Photo)
