Ice Dogs And Miners Both Post Victories

It wasn’t pretty but the Dryden GM Ice Dogs pulled out their third straight win over the Thief River Falls this young SIJHL season posting a 5-3 victory.

The Ice Dogs led 3-0 in the third period when the determined Norskies battled back to make it close a couple of times.

Taylor Unruh and the Ice Dogs withstood a 6-3 player disadvantage on two separate occasions

Nic Noseworthy, Braedyn Aubin and Jacen Bracko continued their hot streak with goals.

Eric Stout extended his goal streak to seven games with his 12th.

16-year-old Sam Marit of Toronto scored the goal he will always remember to spark the Ice Dogs.

Dryden outshot Thief River Falls 49-22.

Meantime, the English River Miners continued to add the misery of the defending league champions.

The Miners dumped the Lakers 5-1 in Fort Frances.

Sidney Gladue remains hot as he netted the hat trick.

Nash Dabb, Braedan Pearce and Jamie Driedger added singles.

Spencer Eschyschyn stopped 32-shots.

The other game saw Thunder Bay control Minnesota 5-1 in Hoyt Lakes.

The results mean nothing has changed in the SIJHL standings.
