Ice Dogs Coach Reflects Back On Dudley

The players are packing up and preparing to leave for home as the season has come to an end for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.

The Ice Dogs were eliminated from the Dudley Hewitt Cup by Wellington in the championship game Saturday night.

Head Coach Kurt Walsten says it was a good run and his team has nothing to be ashamed of.

Walsten says they made it to the big dance but didn’t get any bounces in the final game, noting it was tied with seven minutes remaining.

Walsten took time to thank the organizing committee, Mike Sveinson, Colleen Oliphant and all of the volunteers.

He says they did a heck of a job to put on what he was told by some as the best Dudley in over twenty years.

Walsten says all of Dryden should be proud.

He also congratulated the Dukes, calling them a skilled and well coached team;

Walsten says he wishes Wellington luck at the Royal Bank Cup in Chilliwack, B.C., hoping they proudly represent Central Canada.
