The Dryden Ice Dogs are 0-1 at the Dudley Hewitt Cup in Newmarket after a 5-1 loss to the Oakville Blades Tuesday afternoon. Dryden trailed 1-0 after 1 but Colin McIntosh tied it with a short handed marker 8 minutes into the second. Oakville would score the eventual winner on the powerplay 5 minutes later. The Blades would add three more in the third to pull away from Dryden. Graeme Harrigton faced 37 shots in the loss between the pipes. The Dogs will participate in the opening cermonies tonight and then rest until tomorrow evening when they face the host Newmarket Hurricanes who are 1-0 after Newmarket downed the Sudbury Jr. Wolves 5-1.
