Sunday was a long travel day for members of the Dryden GM Ice Dogs.
Plagued by a long flight delay due to weather and construction at the Pearson Airport in Toronto, another one hour wait on the tarmac at the Thunder Bay Airport and another 2 hour bus ride to Trenton, the Ice Dogs finally checked into their hotel around 4:30 Monday morning.
The team decided to scrap its early afternoon skate Monday and is spending the day resting.
Dryden GM will participate in an opening public event and meet-and-greet tonight at 7:00 eastern at CFB Trenton.
Tuesday, the Ice Dogs will get down to business with a skate at the Trenton Arena, before hitting the ice for Game 1 of the Central Canada Junior Hockey Championship.
The surging Dogs will face the Georgetown Raiders at 1:30 central time.
The Raiders won the OPJHL title last Wednesday with a seven game win over the host Golden Hawks.
CKDR is in Trenton with live play-by-play, with the pre-game show ten minutes before each game.
