Ice Dogs Forward Off To Selection Camp

You can’t fault Derek McPhail for not wanting to be in the lineup this weekend when the Dryden Ice Dogs entertain the Minnesota Iron Rangers.
McPhail is on his way to Calgary for the Canada West Selection camp in hopes of competing in the World Junior Hockey Challenge.
McPhail says it’s an honour to be asked to join the camp.
He says his goal is to make the team but he’s anxious to learn more from other players and coaches.
The 17-year-old forward from Kaministiquia adds he plans to take those skills back to Dryden.
McPhail turns 18 next Friday.
He has 5-goals, 8-assists and 32-penalty minutes in 12-games with the Ice Dogs this season.
The World Junior Hockey Challenge starts November 4th in Nova Scotia.
