The Dryden GM Ice Dogs withstood a late comeback attempt by the Fort Frances Lakers to hold on to a 5-4 win Saturday night.
The Ice Dogs almost wasted leads of 3-0 and 5-2, but were able escape the Ice for Kids Arena with a needed two points.
Cory Dennis led the way for Dryden GM with 2-goals and an assist.
Joseph Santalucia scored his first SIJHL goal, while Eric Stout and Malcolm Huemmert also finding the back of the net.
Dryden GM outshot the Lakers 53-31, with Jacob Gnidziejko picking up the win.
The Ice Dogs are now seven points back of first place Thief River Falls.
