Ice Dogs Open Dudley With Big Win

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are out of the gate at the Dudley Hewitt Cup.

In front of a packed house, the Ice Dogs shutdown the Wellington Dukes 4-1 Tuesday night.

Landon Pavlisin continued his memorable playoff run with a 38-save performance.

Woody Galbraith, Eric Stout, Kris Hamlin and Connor Mowatt scored for Dryden GM.

Captain Trevor Kavanaugh says it was a great feeling, but stresses they aren’t done yet.

The 20-year-old from Eagle Lake First Nation says they only played about 40-minutes of the game and he knows they can do better.

Kavanaugh says they weren’t as mentally prepared as they could have been, noting nerves did play a factor.

Dryden GM plays the 0-1 Cochrane Crunch Wednesday at 7:30.

The 2:30 game features the Dukes and Thunder Bay.

The North Stars are 1-0.
