The Dryden Ice Dogs scored early and often in a 7-6 shootout win over the visiting Fort Frances Lakers Wednesday night.
Dryden stormed out of the gate with 2-goals in the first 5-minutes of the game.
Fort Frances rebounded before the two teams traded goals back and forth to force a shootout.
Zach Kercz scored the shootout winner, his second of the game.
Veteran Tyson Holder had a breakout game with 2-goals in regulation, 1-goal in the shootout and an assist.
Derek McPhail, Rory Court and Drew Decker also found the back of the net.
Terry Hughes earned his second win of the season making 41-saves.
The rematch is Saturday in Fort Frances.
