Ice Dogs Outlast Miners

If Saturday’s Dryden GM Ice Dogs and English River Miners game is any indication, it will once again be a heated rivarlry in 2015-2016.

The two sides battled at the Memorial Arena, with the Ice Dogs holding on to defeat the Miners 4-3.

It was a testy affair between the two teams, with most of the game being spent in the penalty box.

Dryden GM built up leads of 3-1 and 4-2 but the persistant Miners kept fighting back.

Kent Walchuk and Derek McPhail both recorded a pair of goals.

Hank Bouchard, Daniel Szpakowski and Konnar Dechane replied for English River.

English River outshot Dryden GM 29-24.

The Ice Dogs incurred 117-penalty minutes.

Dryden GM improves to 3-1, while the Miners are still looking for their first win.

They do have two shootout losses.
