A Sunday night match-up between the top two teams in the SIJHL didn’t disappoint.
Tristan Simm lost the puck but got it back in time to bury the shootout winner as the Ice Dogs defeated the visiting Thief River Falls Norskies 4-3 in a thriller.
Cory Dennis tied the game for Dryden GM with 30-seconds left in regulation after the Ice Dogs squandered leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
Brendan Jay and Evan Walls also scored in regulation, while Jacen Bracko extended his point streak to 12 games with an assist.
The difference for the Ice Dogs was the third period where they capatalized on a Norskies team that was playing their third game in three nights, outshooting them 19-4.
Finals shots were 42-31 for Dryden GM.
The Ice Dogs are now 1-point behind the Norskies for first in the SIJHL.
