A solid opening weekend for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs has resulted in national recognition.
The Ice Dogs have been ranked sixth out of 132 member teams in the first Canadian Junior Hockey League rankings.
Dryden GM skated to a pair of one-sided victories to open their 16th campaign.
The Thunder Bay North Stars have earned honourable mention.
The Ice Dogs and North Stars will meet Friday night at the Memorial Arena.
Two rivals sit one, two in the nation; the Trenton Golden Hawks and Wellington Dukes respectively.
