Ice Dogs Ready To ‘Pink The Rink’

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are getting ready to ‘Pink the Rink’.

Friday night marks the 8th Annual Cancer Awareness Game, in support of the Oncology Unit at the Dryden Regional Health Centre.

Defenceman Kyle Sutherland says it’s all about giving back to the community.

Sutherland says it’s a huge hit in town and they are excited to help out a great cause.

Shakeel Ebrahim notes cancer hits close to home as his grandmother was diagnosed with the disease a couple of years ago.

Both say the team is ready for tonight, and notes they are focused on earning the victory.

The Ice Dogs have never lost a Cancer Awareness game.

Fans are urged to wear pink.

Game time is 7:30 at the Memorial Arena.

Meantime, the English River Miners look to make it three in a row as they travel to Thunder Bay to face the North Stars.

Puck-drop is 6:30.
