Ice Dogs Stun Miners In Comeback Win

It was an emotional rollercoaster ride for the Dryden GM Ice Dogs and the English River Miners Tuesday night in Ear Falls.

The Dogs fell behind 5-1 after playing their worst opening period of the year but scored five unanswered in the third to defeat the Miners 9-6.

Ryan Hron, Jonathan Philley and Cole Golka each had a pair of goals and an assist.

Eric Masters, Zach Kercz and Blake Berg added singles.

Ryker Moreau led the attack for English River with a pair of goals, while Alex Maticic also found the back of the net.

Kyle Baril and Landin Matiechuk scored their first SIJHL goals for the Miners who outshot Dryden GM 48-32.

In other action, the Minnesota Iron Rangers erased a 3-1 deficit to defeat Thunder Bay 4-3.
