Ice Dogs Win Season Opener

What a debut for Eric Stout!

In his first SIJHL game, the explosive forward scored four times to lead the Dryden GM Ice Dogs to a 7-3 win over the English River Miners in front of an opening day crowd of 444 at the Memorial Arena.

Jacen Bracko and Cory Dennis also scored their first league goals, while Woody Galbraith found the back of the net.

Jamie Driedger, Trevor Pereverzoff and Dwayne Auger replied for the Miners.

Taylor Unruh picked up the win for Dryden GM, who out shot the Miners 34-22.

In the other SIJHL game, the expansion Thief River Falls Norskies shocked the defending champion Lakers 4-2 in Fort Frances.

Dryden GM will face Thief River for the first time Saturday night at 7:30 at the Memorial Arena.
