The entertainment world has lost an iconic actor.
According to his family, 88-year old Adam West passed away Friday night after a short battle with leukemia.
West was most famous for his role as Batman in the TV series that ran from 1966 to 1968.
Throughout his seven decade career, West also performed voice work for The Simpsons, Futurama and Family Guy, where he played fictional versions of himself.

West continued working in his iconic role as Batman up until his death for animated series, and video games.
Tributes to the legendary actor began pouring in shortly after news of his passing spread.
