Ignace Agreement

A tentative agreement has been reached between the I.W.A. Canada and Bowater that would end one of the longest disputes in Ignace history.
50 Sawmill workers have been on strike since July 2002 and out of work since 2000 when Bowater spend $25 million on renovations.
I.W.A. Spokesperson Joe Hanlon says while the specifics can’t be released, he believes it’s a fair deal.
Hanlon is recommending that member accept the agreement.
A ratification vote will be held Sunday at 11:00 in Ignace.
The tentative deal comes after 5 straight days of negotiations.
