Illegal Bear Hunting in Ignace

A California man won’t be able to hunt in Ontario for a year after
pleading guilty to illegal bear hunting in the Ignace area.
32-year-old Joshua Whittaker has been fined a total of $2,500
for using a bear licence issued to another person, hunting bear
without a licence and transporting illegally killed wildlife.
Whittaker and 2 other non-resident hunters were stopped on August 2004.
Whittaker is one of 16 non-resident hunters charged in an
investigation involving illegal black bear hunting in the Ignace area.
