A Rainy River man has been fined $1,000 for illegal deer hunting last November.
James Armstrong pleaded guilty and was convicted for unlawfully shooting a firearm across a road.
A witness told Conservation officers that a man parked his vehicle in the middle of Weir Road in Rainy River and shot a deer standing in a field on private property.
Officers seized Armstrong’s firearm, which will be returned once the fine is paid.
