Tough Break for Medical Bursary

The Dryden Regional Health Services Foundation won’t be moving ahead with a Northern Ontario School of Medicine Bursary dedicated to individuals who stay and practice in the community.
The Group was hoping to roll out the Bursary after receiving funding support from the Province and City.
However, officials have learned that the language contained in their service agreement was not accepted by the Ontario Trust for Student Supports.
Physician Recruiter Chuck Schmitt says they investigated every avenue but in the end the deal wouldn’t prevent students from going elsewhere following their education.
The money guaranteed by all parties has been returned.
