The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is being asked to consider setting up an in-school suspension program.
Four years ago the Province implemented a zero tolerance policy in all classrooms.
Dryden High School Council Chair Trudy Griffiths says while the measure created a safer environment, student learning was effected for the odd rule breaker.
The Board is also being asked to set up an advisory committee that would gather input to help develop a more effective suspension system.
