Canada’s Indigenous Affairs Minister is remaining coy on the findings in an interim report released by the Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
The Commission is asking for more money and more time to properly conduct its work.
Minister Carolyn Bennett says the Federal government is willing to talk and listen.
However, Bennett notes families have also told the Commissioner that they want closure and they don’t want the process to take forever.
Another request from the Inquiry is for a national Task Force to be set up to help investigate cold cases.
