Municipalities in Northwestern Ontario are now able to apply for funding to improve infrastructure.
President of the Kenora-Rainy River Liberal Riding Association Anthony Leek says this is great news for the region.
Municipalities can apply at www.ontario.ca/municipalinfrastructure.
The $100 million Small, Rural and Northern Municipal Infrastructure Fund was promised in the 2013 Ontario Budget.
Leek says it will go towards things like roads, bridges and sewage treatment plants, all of which are necessities in Northwestern Ontario.
