Inspector Tkachyk Honoured To Be Recognized

An Inspector with the Dryden Police Service says she was overwhelmed and honoured to be recognized for her 25-years of service by the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement.

Ann Tkachyk says her last ten years with the force has been her main highlight.

Tkachyk says she has used her position to partner with other community agencies to look at the overall well-being of Dryden.

She says it’s her ultimate goal to have a strategy in place to help protect all citizens as well as all emergency service providers.

Tkachyk is hoping that other young women follow her lead and pursue a career in policing.

She became the first female officer to join the ranks back on October 12th, 1992.
