Boaters using Rainy Lake are asked to be on the lookout for an invasive
species found in the water for the first time.
The spiny water flea has been located on both the Ontario and
Minnesota side of the lake.
The flea has been known to feed on small animal life, which limits the
food available for fish.
The public is asked to inspect their boat, trailer and equipment and
remove all plants as well as not release live bait in the lake.
