A surprising weekend for the English River Miners.
Fresh off a 3-1 win over Dryden GM on Friday, the Miners dropped a pair of games on home ice against the last place team in the SIJHL.
The Minnesota Iron Rangers defeated English River 4-2 on Saturday and 4-3 in overtime Sunday afternoon.
Nash Dabb, Tyrell Bourk and Sidney Gladue scored for the Miners on Sunday.
Spencer Eschyschyn stopped 38-shots in the loss.
Minnesota entered the game with only two wins.
English River is now two points back of Thunder Bay for first, and four ahead of third place Dryden GM.
