The Dryden Police Service is asking you to take the plunge all in support of the Special Olympics.
The first ever Summer “Polar Plunge” is being held at the Riverview Lodge July 1st after the Dragon Boat Races.
Community Services Officer Denise Szachury was a guest on the CKDR Morning Show Thursday to promote the event.
Szachury says those taking part will jump into a bin containing cold water and 3,000 pounds of ice.
She notes the Special Olympics is the charity of choice for the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police and they will be hosting a number of fundraisers throughout the year.
Szachury says anyone can take part in the “Polar Plunge” and you can now sign-up or make pledges by visiting www.polarplunge.ca and finding the Dryden event.
There will be prizes and Police have received assistance from B&M Delivery.
