A judge has handed 6 members of the KI First Nation in Northwestern
Ontario, including Chief Donny Morris jail terms after they ignored a court
order to stay away from a disputed mining site.
The 6-activists will spend six months behind bars for contempt of
court.
The sentences stem from a conflict at the site near Big Trout Lake,
where the mining company Platinex has been drilling for minerals.
Aboriginals say the site is on their traditional lands.
