James “Jim” Fredrick Mihalick

Peacefully, on December 10, 2010, with his family by his side, James “Jim” Fredrick Mihalick of Dryden, Ontario passed away at the age of 43 years.

Jim was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 22,1967, and resided in Dryden. Jim attended Dryden High School, and after graduating, he left Dryden to attend college in the Toronto area. After college, Jim moved to Thunder Bay where he was employed with the CP Railway for 4 years. He then returned to Dryden and was employed at the Dryden Mill for the next 20 years.

Jim enjoyed all aspects of the outdoors, which is where he spent most of his time with his friends and family. He was an excellent creative cook, and enjoyed competing with his friends for the best recipes.

Jim loved his music, and had a large collection of cds, videos, and books. He had an interest in history, and always had a desire to be aware of what was going on in the world.

Jim was predeceased by his brother-in-law Tim Castle, Uncle Mike Mihalick, Uncle Mike Nosal, Uncle Steve Nosal, Aunt Mary Scarrow, Aunt Sylvia Mihalick, and his Godfather John

“Chub” Bertko.

He is survived by his children Tyler, Jaymeson, and Jayna, and his wife Tanya; his parents Fred and Nettie Mihalick; sister Lorraine Castle; nephew Scott Castle; niece Jillian Castle; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and brothers-in-law.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Jim’s life, on Wednesday December 15, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Dryden Community Funeral Home. Internment of ashes to follow at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Mihalick Children Trust Fund through the Dryden Community Funeral Home at 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, Dryden, Ontario, P8N 2X3.
