January marks Alzheimer Awareness month and half of Canadians polled think people with dementia can’t lead happy, healthy lives.
Fay Forbes was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s five years ago while still in her 50’s.
She says with the support of her family and friends, she’s living proof there is life beyond the diagnosis.
Forbes says after she got over the initial shock, she’s learned to cope with kitchen timers and post-it notes as household reminders.
