Jourdain Steps Aside

The Grand Chief of Treaty #3 has agreed to take a leave of absence.
Leon Jourdain says he will step aside and take time for healing, allowing members to select a Deputy Grand Chief.
The embattled leader made the decision during the National Assembly meeting in Eagle Lake.
The break will also give the courts time to determine his guilt or innocence in connection with a pair of criminal charges.
Treaty #3 members have spent 2 intense days discussing what to do about the leadership.
