A 77-year-old man who worked on 18-remote First Nations in Northwestern
Ontario has been ordered to stand trial on more then 50-sexual assault
charges.
Ralph Rowe is alleged to have assaulted 28-young males during a
15-year period while working as a priest and scout leader.
Rowe tried to argue the charges were unconstituational because of an
agreement reached with the Crown 12-years-ago after he had been convicted
on 30-similar offences.
Rowe says the deal stated he couldn’t be charged with any sex-related
offences.
A trial date has been scheduled for August 18th.
