The jury has started deliberations in the first degree murder trial
of 27-year-old James Kakegamic.
Kakegamic was arrested almost 3-years ago in connection with the death
of teenager Jocelyn McDonald in Kenora.
Justice Irwin Stach said Monday that in order to be found guilty of
first degree murder, the jury has to find beyond a reasonable doubt that
he not only unlawfully killed the 16-year-old, but also sexually assaulted
her, or made an attempt to.
The trial has been on the go for the past 5 weeks.
