J.W. Walker Elementary School caught fire last night,
after an explosion occured around 12:30.
The Adventure Inn, Super 8 motel, Westfort Apartments
and several homes have been evacuated.
The fire is currently under control, but still active.
Fire Department Chief Gerry Armstrong says they’re not
sure what exactly caused the blaze.

School has been cancelled for J.W. Walker, St. Francis,
and Fort Frances High School students and staff.
Police are detouring traffic around the site, East bound
traffic coming into town are asked to go North on
McCirvine at 5th or 6th, and then come down Portage.
West bound traffic can go up Portage to 5th or 6th and
down McCirvine.
