Liberals in the riding of Kenora-Rainy River have officially nominated their candidate for the upcoming provincial election.
Karen Kejick has been a band councillor on Shoal Lake #39 First Nation and a representative on the Treaty 3 Women’s Executive Council for seven years.
Kejick says she plans of using that experience and take all of her knowledge to Queen’s Park.
She notes at a local level she has worked on a number of files including the planned twinning of Highway 17 from Kenora to the Manitoba boundary and advocacy on the issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.
Kejick adds she has previous experience as a civil servant, representing various communities and speaking at a grassroots level.
Kejick says she’s running for the Liberals because she wants the province to build on the progress they’ve seen under the Wynne government.
