KDMA 2…

Forestry & trying to put the brakes on Provincial downloading will be among the topic discussed today at the 65th Annual Kenora District Municipal Association meetings.
Randy Pike reports from Ignace…

That the forestry crisis is front & centre on many minds should come as little surprise. Mayors & Councillors from across the region say their patience is wearing thin with the McGuinty Liberals & their lack of any real action to try & help save the industry.
The increasing burden on tax payers is also a concern with some wondering just how much deeper they can ask taxpayers to dig to pay for things such as social services & land ambulances.
This afternoon, officials from the Northwestern Health Unit will provide an update on preparations to deal with a flu pandemic many say will eventually hit all regions including ours.
Covering the 65th annual Kenora District Municipal Association meetings I’m Randy Pike in Ignace.
