Randy Pike has more in this report…
If there is 1 recurring theme at the meetings it is growing anger at what some local leaders see as a total lack of interest by members of the McGuinty Government.
Not only over the forest crisis but a general feeling of many that because of the population difference the north just doesn’t matter.
Fort Frances Councilor Tannis Drysdale broached a subject that has been circulating in the region for some time now, separating from Ontario & joining Manitoba.
KDMA has been asked to appoint a member to a group which will be set up to study the idea & see what benefits there may or may not be for such a radical change in the Canadian map.
At the Kenora District Municipal Association meetings, I’m Randy Pike in Ignace.
