The Keewatin Patricia District School Board is closer
than ever to paintin an accuarate picture of how many
aboriginal students there are in the board’s region.
Director of Education Janet Wilkenson says there are
over fifteen hundred native students attending KPDSB
elementary and secondary schools.

Wilkenson says the information collected is going to be
used to create new aboriginal programs, and to monitor
existing programs.
The data comes from letters and registration forms which
were sent home with KPDSB students last year.
