The Keewatin Patricia District School Board is
collecting data in order to better help aboriginal
students in the region.
Director of Education Janet Wilkenson says for years
there was no way of knowing exactly how many native
students attend KPDSB schools.

Wilkenson says the data comes from registration forms
and letters which were sent home with students last year.
There are over 15 hundred native students attending
elementary and secondary schools within the Keewatin
Patrica District School Board.
