KDSB Approves 2008-2009 Budget

With little debate in the open meeting Thursday, the Kenora District
Services Board approved the 2008-2009 budget of $39.9-million.
The municipal levy is going up 2.5%, with Dryden now required to
pay $19,000 more from last year.
Finance Chair and Dryden Mayor Anne Krassilowsky says a minimal increase was needed to enhance services and notes it was a fair budget for everyone involved.
More money has been set aside for the homeless program, childcare, social housing, Ontario works, the aboriginal child care program and land ambulance.
