The Kenora District Services Board has handed out $153,000 in funding for several area children groups.
Nearly $70,000 is going to children of Ontario Works clients for backpacks, school supplies, footwear and clothing.
The Mayor’s Committee for Children and Youth in Dryden is receiving $30,000 to provide recreation programs for kids from low-income families.
P.R.O Kids in Sioux Lookout is getting nearly $11,500 to provide youth with recreational activities.
The Red Lake Indian Friendship Centre is using $6,000 for its K.A.R.E. program.
In Ignace, $4,800 will ensure that Loonie Lunch Cards are available for all students at Ignace School.
The Mary Berglund Community Health Centre is using roughly $3,500 for health transportation certificates and its moose meat distribution program.
Riverview School in Dryden will see $1,000 for its Breakfast and snack program.
