Increased costs continues to haunt area Municipalities.
The Kenora District Services Board is out with its first draft of the 2012 budget, which shows an $800,000 hike in the Municipal share.
Communities would be asked to pay 5.5% more.
CAO Dan McNeill says they are still very early in the budget process and notes the Board will do their best to find cost savings.
McNeill says the Board is facing increased costs in utilities, salaries, insurance as well water and sewer rates.
The first draft of the budget calls for no increase in funding for repair and maintenance in the public housing and non-profit housing budget.
