NAN Pulling Out of Education Panel

The Nishnawbe-Aski Nation is joining a growing movement by announcing it will not participate in a national education review process by the Harper Government.
Deputy Grand Chief Terry Waboose says they are drafting their own plan that will go to the National Chief and the Minister of Indian Affairs.
Waboose says the national panel was established without input from NAN and other First Nations.
He notes they’re pulling out of the process because they feel it’ll be nothing more than another study that goes nowhere.
Several other First Nations in Ontario, Saskatchewan and Quebec are also rejecting the process.
