The Kenora District Services Board is hoping to work with the province to develop a long-term supportive housing plan.
Chief Administrative Officer Henry Wall says they need more spaces to assist those in need 24-hours a day.
Wall notes a lot of the crisis that individuals experience happen at night time or on the weekends.
Wall says they have to figure out how to fill the gaps with hospitals, mental health agencies, addictions agencies and other service providers.
