It was a busy 2014 for land ambulance paramedics in the Kenora district.
The Kenora District Services Board is reporting a major spike in emergency calls.
The Board received nearly 12,000 calls for service, up from roughly 10,600 in 2013.
That represents an 11.1% hike.
Sioux Lookout and Kenora saw a majority of the increase in call volume.
The KDSB continues to tackle the issue of non-emergency patient transfers in both communities and has been lobbying both the Northwest Local Health Integration Network and the province for changes.
